I agree that science can improve life in some ways but can it cure the heart of man? The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? (Jer 17:9).

Has science reduced the number of wars? Famine? Jesus said, “And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.”

And worse yet, science cannot save you from death. It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment… (Heb 9:27)

That’s because there really isn’t any problem. I know you THINK there is and as you look upon the world it WILL appear real to you. But your “seeing” is nothing butFEAR.

Maybe you haven’t REALLY experienced the pain of your brother, yet.
Maybe it’s time to stop searching and simply wake up.

With all due respect, Russ, I must disagree. There was a time when the western civilization relied almost solely on the bible; we now know those days as the dark-ages. Life expectancy was around 30 years, and even Kings had no more comfort then our modern poor. Jesus saved us from the eternal fires that nobody but him and his followers have ever had a reason to believe it exists. Science, on the other hand, saves us everyday from the excruciating death that even the mildest infection could bring is those days. Faith had its days, and brought us nothing but disaster. Maybe we did achieve some enlightenment on the last few centuries after all!

Did you notice that as you learned each new “secret truth” that they all had one thing in common? Did you notice that they all said that by “doing something” you will become “XYZ” or you will have eternal life or some other promise. Did you notice that really they all said the same thing, that you had to “do” something? Some work or some prayer or some special robe to wear or whatever it was?

The Bible is the only religious book on earth that teaches that there is NOTHING that you can do to earn God’s favor. There is no work you can do, there is no ritual that you can go through, there is no list of “works” to be performed to make God respond to you.

Why? Because according to the Bible, it is not what you can do for God, but what God has already done for you. In fact, the Bible says that if you attempt to “work” your way to God that God will not accept it.

The Bible says that all of mankind is in rebellion to God and that because man is at war with God, man is condemned. Our sin has separated us from God.

Jesus did not die on the cross for His own sins. He willing offered Himself on the cross to pay the price for your sins that you may have eternal life.

Instead, the Bible says that we are saved by faith and not by our works.

Eph 2:8, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
